When I painted this sky I wanted to bring the feeling of sweeping movement and colour. I love the shapes that came as a result and the layers of colours interplaying with each other. The longer you look at it the more you see - and that’s what I love about this piece. I wanted to create something that brings stillness to a room but also allows your eyes to find something different every time you look at it- because I think that’s the magic of a gorgeous sunset. It just stops you in your tracks, even if you’ve seen one a thousand times. It gives you a moment to exhale and breathe and get lost in a serene and beautiful moment that’s been bottled forever on your wall.
