Sophie Heywood (b.1990) is an abstract artist whose work is driven by instinct, movement, texture, and colour, creating bold compositions that resist the neutrality and “beige” sameness of contemporary visual culture. Working intuitively, she builds layered, expressive surfaces that capture energy, spontaneity, and emotional depth. 

At its heart, her practice celebrates freedom, play, and intuition — an invitation to experience colour not just as something seen, but as something felt.

Originally from London and now based in Andalusia, her paintings are held in private collections internationally and reflect the vibrancy, light, and atmosphere of her Mediterranean surroundings.
